The 24-year-old version of me who binged frugality podcasts and scavenged conference rooms after lunch meetings would want my head on a stake for this, but I have to say: Outsourcing is one of the best decisions I’ve made personally and professionally.

When we moved out of our 2BR apartment into a 3BR house, suddenly the surfaces that required weekly vacuuming, scrubbing, and dusting doubled. Hilariously, so did the workload at my day job.

Monday through Friday was spent tending to Slack pings and Zoom calls, Saturday was spent catching up on work that didn’t get done thanks to all the meetings, and—oh, what do you know?—Sunday became the de facto “cook and clean” day.

I had been so obsessed with hoarding every dollar of income that I failed to recognize the obvious way out: Use some of that income to pay someone else to do these things.

It comes down to the financial value we assign to our own time, and the equation is relatively straightforward: If your hourly rate is higher than the cost of outsourcing, then it makes economic sense to pay someone else to do it.

We pay our cleaning professionals $100 every two weeks. Two women come and clean for an hour and a half, so it saves 3 hours of my time.

$100 for 3 hours = $33/hour. If I make more than that, it might be a worthwhile trade.

At first, it made me feel lazy—but after a few weeks, I realized I was not only happier, but more productive, too. I ended up earning more than when I was trying to do it all myself.

That’s the irony of outsourcing: It may feel wasteful to pay someone else to do something you could do yourself, but eventually it becomes obvious that not everything is an efficient use of your time and energy. Learning how to identify those things helps you optimize your life and your output.

Bos Roadgrip Motorsport Indonesia Ungkap Penyebab Kerusakan Aspal Sirkuit Mandalika

Jakarta - Roadgrip Motorsport Indonesia (RMI), selaku kontraktor utama pembangunan Sirkuit Mandalika, menjelaskan penyebab kerusakan aspal lintasan di Lombok, NTB tersebut saat digunakan sebagai arena tes ofisial MotoGP pada bulan lalu.

Berbicara kepada MotoGP.com jelang balapan pembuka di Qatar pada Rabu, General Manager RMI Simon Gardini sangat mengapresiasi upaya Pemerintah Indonesia, ITDC selaku pemilik sirkuit, MGPA selaku promotor dan semua pihak yang terlibat dalam upaya pengaspalan ulang Sirkuit Mandalika demi menyambut gelaran Grand Prix MotoGP untuk pertama kalinya dalam 25 tahun terakhir di Tanah Air.

Gardini mengungkapkan sesi tes pramusim pada 11-13 Februari lalu memberi pelajaran berharga sekaligus kesempatan untuk menguji lintasan sebelum Grand Prix Indonesia dilangsungkan pada 18-20 Maret nanti.

Menyusul insiden kotornya lintasan karena debu, pasir, dan kerikil yang dikeluhkan oleh para pebalap, FIM, Dorna dan ITDC mengidentifikasi dua area yang perlu diperbaiki, yaitu kebersihan permukaan trek dan banyaknya agregat, seperti pasir, debu dan kerikil atau pecahan batu, yang berada di atas lintasan dan merekomendasikan pengaspalan ulang sejumlah bagian lintasan sebelum Tikungan 17 hingga setelah Tikungan 5, atau sekitar 17,5 persen dari total lintasan.

Proyek konstruksi yang masih berlangsung di sekitar lintasan juga mempengaruhi tingkat kebersihan lintasan.

"Bagi kami, melakukan tes itu bagus dan terlihat hasilnya, sekarang kami sedang bekerja tanpa henti membersihkan trek dan runoff," kata Gardini.

"Dan seperti yang Anda ketahui, itu menjentikkan batuan dan menyebarkan lebih banyak debu ke luar racing line," kata Gardini.

RMI juga melibatkan perusahaan spesialis jalan aspal R3 dalam pembenahan lintasan Sirkuit Mandalika itu.

"Saya melihat upaya yang sangat besar dari semua orang di Indonesia, mulai dari Presiden hingga ke petugas yang membersihkan lintasan dengan sapu, dan keahlian yang tepat yang dibawa dari seluruh dunia.

"Dan kemudian godaannya adalah terburu-buru menyelesaikan tugas ini, tapi sekali lagi, dengan panduan keahlian dari R3... mereka telah melakukan tes yang tepat, memastikan semuanya dilakukan dengan cara yang benar, sehingga memberi kesempatan sukses yang besar dan apa yang menjadikan ini sebagai sirkuit kelas dunia," kata Gardini.

Sementara itu Direktur Utama MGPA Priandhi Satria dalam media briefing virtual pada Rabu mengatakan proses pembenahan lintasan telah dimulai setelah sebelumnya alat-alat berat telah didatangkan ke Mandalika.

Ia optimistis proses pengaspalan ulang, yang dikerjakan BUMN konstruksi PT PP, akan rampung sesuai target pada 10 Maret nanti.

"Hari ini, sudah berlangsung simulasi atau uji coba kimia pengikat dicampur dengan aspal dan kerikil," kata Priandi.

"Pengaspalan akan dilakukan pada 4-8 Maret. Sementara pengecatan dilaksanakan 9 Maret."

Saat ini, Priandhi menuturkan, sebelum pengaspalan ulang, lintasan telah dikelupas dan dibersihkan untuk memungkinkan aspal melekat dengan baik dan mengurangi risiko kerusakan pada masa mendatang.

Bebatuan yang didatangkan Palu, Sulawesi Tengah, sebagai material juga harus dibersihkan untuk menjaga kualitas lintasan.

Ia menegaskan target penyelesaian pengaspalan ulang Sirkuit Mandalika adalah paling lambat 10 Maret. "Tapi kami berharap semuanya rampung sebelum target tersebut."

Selain mengejar pengerjaan lintasan, ITDC selaku pemilik sirkuit juga sedang membangun tribun penonton dari berbagai kelas di sekitar lintasan yang ditargetkan rampung paling lambat 16 Maret. (ant/ade)

The TikTok Live Stream Program (the “Program”) is provided by TikTok (“Platform”) for users to live stream and use live-streaming features. It is open to users of the Services who are aged 16 or older and is subject to the following terms and conditions of this Virtual Items Policy (the “Policy).

Users between 16 and 18 (or age of majority in your jurisdiction) must have parents or legal guardian’s full permission to participate in the Program.

Who is eligible to participate in the Program?

Who can buy Coins?

Users of our Services who are aged 18 (or age of majority in your jurisdiction) or older may purchase virtual “coins” (“Coins”) from us using authorised payment methods and through payment providers made available and authorized by us.

Purchasing Coins

The price of the Coins will be displayed at the point of purchase. All charges and payments for Coins will be made in the currency specified at the point of purchase through the relevant payment mechanism. Currency exchange settlements, foreign transaction fees and payment channel fees, if any, are based on your agreement with the applicable payment provider.

You will be responsible for the payment of any Coins purchased by you. Once your purchase has been completed, your user account will be credited with Coins.

Please note that changes may impact price as well as other aspects of your purchase. All Coins of a user will expire automatically upon termination of the user’s account for any reason.

When this functionality is available on the Services, you can contribute Gifts to User Content by clicking the “Give Gift” button below the relevant User Content.

When you have contributed a Gift to an item of User Content, this Gift will be removed from your account, and converted into Diamonds (as defined and further explained below) in the Content Provider’s account.

Please note that when you give a Gift to another user you do so publicly so other users of the Services (including the recipient of the Gift) can see your name, user ID and the details of the Gift that you gave.

Diamonds are a measurement of the popularity of the relevant User Content. Diamonds are based on the Gifts a Content Provider receives, at a rate of conversion to be determined by us from time to time in its absolute and sole discretion.

No Diamonds may be assigned or transferred to any other user of the Services or third party except as expressly permitted by us in writing.

The applicable monetary compensation will be calculated by us based on various factors including the number of Diamonds a user has accrued.

In either case, you shall have no right or entitlement to any financial compensation in respect of any Diamond accrued prior to the date of cancellation of the incentive that has not been converted into cash using the mechanism set out in this Policy.

You agree that when a user is entitled to a refund for the Gifts he or she purchased, the payment withdrawn by you in relation to such Gifts shall be forfeited. You are responsible for refund such payment within 5 business days upon receiving our notice to you.
